3rd International Young Conductors Academy
When Peter Rundel took over the musical direction of the Salzburg Pocket Opera Festival in 2019, he established an international academy for conductors at the beginning of their professional careers as part of the festival.
The 8-week master class is aimed at fully trained conductors with a special interest in contemporary music theater to actively participate in the development of the world premieres of five new music theater pieces written exclusively for the occasion. The aim of the academy is to give the participants the experience of how to approach and realize a completely new piece of music theatre, from the first steps of rehearsal planning to the premiere.
This years participants are Rosina Flückiger and Etienne Haan. They have been working together with Peter Rundel these last weeks and will be conducting individual parts of the performances from 18 to 21 November.
