The composer, organist and improviser Wolfgang Mitterer has specialised in the method of sampling, of composing with sounds. His mixed sounds create an unmistakable immediacy. (mica magazine)
A small excerpt from the novella “Undine” by Friedrich de La Motte-Fouqué is at the centre of his opera miniature “The Kiss”.
“she kissed him with a heavenly kiss, but she did not let him go, she pressed him more intimately to her and wept as if she wanted to cry her soul away.
The tears penetrated the knight’s eyes and surged through his chest in a lovely wail, until at last his breath escaped him and he sank back gently from the beautiful arms as a corpse onto the cushions of the resting bed.”Heartfelt singing – until silence – ends the short piece.
