Mimi Doulton this year in the Pocket Opera “Ich habe ihn nie getroffen” by Bernhard Gander.
In 2023, the British-Pakistani soprano Mimi Doulton will make her debut with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group under Vimbayi Kaziboni and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Thomas Adès. In the 2022/23 season she will make her debut at the Royal Opera House London in the world premiere of Oliver Leith’s “Last Days”, with the Bamberg Symphony as Max in Oliver Knussen’s “Wo die wilden Kerlen wohnen”, and in concert halls and festivals such as the Sommer in Stuttgart, the Spitalfields Festival, the Southbank Centre, and the Ny Musik I Birkerod. In recent years she has had success in competitions such as the 2021 John Cage Interpretation Award Halberstadt (2nd prize) and the 2022 Royal Overseas League Competition (finalist). She studied at King’s College London and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and is a former young artist with the Britten Pears, Leeds Lieder, Park Lane Group, Longborough Festival Opera, Fondation Royaumont and Academie Aix-en-Provence. She currently lives in Stuttgart, Germany.
