Daniel Sträßer was born in Saarbrücken in 1987. After a brief diversion into musicology, he studied acting at the Mozarteum University from 2008. In 2011, he was engaged by the Vienna Burgtheater where he made his debut as Romeo in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. He has also appeared on stage in plays such as Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull”, Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and as Iago in Othello, among many others, and has worked with directors such as Andrea Breth, Katie Mitchell, Antú Romero Nunes and Jan Bosse.
Sträßer became known to cinema audiences through Houchang Allahyari’s “The Last Dance”. Since 2015, he has concentrated more and more on film and television and has appeared in series such as “Charité”, “funeral for a dog” and, from 2019, took on the role of investigator Adam Schürk in Tatort Saarbrücken, which he still plays today.
